DIY: Place Cards / Drinking Glasses

My Inspiration for this project. ( If you know where I got this picture, please let me know, I can't remember. )
So, I saw this picture and thought that it would be great with the theme of our wedding.  We're having plastic for our plates and silverware, but I really wanted real glass for our glasses...which to you may think sounds crazy...but I really don't care.  So anyways, we were having a hard time trying to figure out what to do for our place cards.  So, we decided to partially spray 16 oz. Mason jars with chalkboard paint and once we have our table chart set we'll write each of their names on the glasses with a tag hanging from it that will read, "Keep this in sight, It's your glass for the night."
And that's all 202 of them!  There are actually 204, but we left 2 out at his mom's house to dry the night before.  I can't wait to get their tags on them with everyone's names and everthing!!   yay!

My 1st Bridal Shower!!!

So my girls threw me a bridal shower with a Bubble Bath Theme, based off of the photo of me in the tub with ribbons!  It was awesome!  Even though it was my shower and I probably sound a little biased...it was seriously the best shower I've ever been to.  No boring games or awkward lulls!  It was GREAT!!
Sarah created these GREAT bubble bath table decorations!  A-Mazing!

DIY Birdcage Centerpieces!!!

So, I just want to send out TONS of THANKS to my friend Ashley who is a Rossaholic!  She helped me track down most of the birdcages for the wedding!  All of which came from Ross except for one!  And for those of you who don't shop at Ross, let me just say that it's a difficult thing to find the same stuff at different locations.  We litterally went ALL OVER the DFW Metroplex area to find all of them!  To come up with a grand total of 25 smaller birdcages & 3 larger ones.
My Bridesmaid, Sabrina, getting her hands dirty!

My Cousins after working all afternoon to get them done!
My favorite is the round one!
Only 19 of them would fit in my car to take out to my Future MIL's, and right now this is the only space she has for them....

Materials Used:
  • Green Silk Peonies
  • Cream Silk Peonies
  • Giant White Silk Daisies
  • Bushels of smaller Silk Daisies
  • Spanish Moss
  • Twigs
I absolutely LOVE the way that they turned out!   We spent a grand total of about $450 on these centerpieces for both the flowers and the birdcages!!!  Actually it could have been less because some of the flowers were bought for other reasons!  I'm so excited about these!!!!!

It's Coming!

My Summer in Cape Cod

So from June 29th til July 31st, I was in Cape Cod with the family that I work for.  So that would be the reason I have been away from my blog.  Well...no more!  We're only 51 days away from our wedding and I am SO SUPER STOKED!!!  Anyways, here are some photos from my vacay / work trip.

Venture, tried sailing out and loved it!

Just loved the name of the place, but never got the chance to go.
I'd say we were blowing bubbles but the sea breeze was blowing them for us.
Cool artwork in Boston's Logan Airport.
 Love the idea of this.
